Pardew hopes to sign players like Leicester’s Kante
With the recent poor form of Crystal Palace, manager Alan Pardew eyes a possible solution.
A player with skill that might be the missing piece of the puzzle for this struggling side. Pardew eyes another Frenchman, N’Golo Kante, in an attempt to revitalize the energy that Crystal Palace possessed early on in the season.
The 24-year old currently plays at Leicester and has been a factor in their surprising prosperity in the league. Originally playing for Caen he was bought by the Foxes and even got his first call-up to the French national team.
He has talent, and more importantly, he has the potential to be great. Kante could be the player that Crystal Palace needs to bring back their positive form, and would work nicely with Cabaye, Bolasie, and Zaha.
Pardew is no stranger to signing talented players from the french league as seen with his purchase of Cabaye and Pape Souare.
The Crystal Palace manager is known for taking in youth players and developing them into starters.
With a player of Kante’s ability, Pardew would have plenty to work with and could turn him into one of the best on the Crystal Palace side.
As per South London Press, Pardew has already acknowledged his admiration for the Leicester midfielder saying:
He has obviously been a fantastic player this year. He’s a player that comes up in our recruitment discussions as the sort of player we need to find.
It was a gem of a find.
I think there were also reasons not to take him, maybe. It was a big step up for him. You never know – you put these players in and some step up and some can’t.
I’ve taken players from France who have just not be able to adjust. But he has – in leaps and bounds.
With the form of Crystal Palace slowly falling apart, a player such as Kante could bring them new life, and Pardew seems eager to explore this buying option further.
With more and more clubs eyeing Leicester’s players Kante could slowly fall out of the grasp of Crystal Palace, so a keen eye needs to be on him at all times.
If they can get the talented midfielder, fans can expect an exciting new aspect to the normal Palace style of play, and an energizing boost in morale.
