Chris Coleman has announced three Crystal Palace players in his 23-man squad for Euro 2016 in France.
Wayne Hennessey, Jonny Williams and Joe Ledley have been named in the Wales side alongside players like Champions League winner Gareth Bale. The three players add to Yohan Cabaye who is included in the France squad for the host’s tournament.
Hennessey has been a regular in the Palace net this season having made 38 appearances in all competitions. The keeper is expected to be the no.1 choice ahead of Danny Ward and Owain Fon Williams; both just have one cap between them compared to the Palace keepers’ 56.

Jonny Williams has been on loan this season at MK Dons in the Championship and has impressed Coleman enough to earn himself a place in the squad. The 22 year-old has 11 caps to his name since making his debut five years ago.

One of the most surprising instalments to the side is experience midfielder Joe Ledley. The Palace player has been selected to join up with the side despite breaking his leg less than a month ago. The 29-year-old sustained the injury playing against Stoke City in May, Ledley missed the FA Cup Final because of the injury.
With his leg still broken, Chris Coleman claims that selecting the experienced player was a risk:
Everything’s a calculated risk but he’s worth the risk. He’s included because of what he brings to the squad. He deserves the chance.

Wales kick off their tournament against Slovakia on the 11th June where they will hope to advance through their group which also includes England and Russia.
