Palace contact representatives of Championship defender

According to The Mirror, Crystal Palace have made an enquiry for Wolves defender Dominic Iorfa by speaking to his representatives.

Crystal Palace, along with Southampton, Everton, West Ham and Arsenal, are thought to be very keen on a move for the defender who is valued at £7m by Wolves, which means that the interested clubs will need splash the cash to land their man.

Iorfa recently impressed for England’s Under-21’s. The defender played at right-back as England won the Toulon tournament in France, beating the hosts in the final to win it.

The 20-year-old defender is very highly rated at Wolves and is seen by many as a future England international. His England chances would certainly be increased if he were to make the switch to the Premier League from the Championship, with more eyes on his performances.

Iorfa can play at centre-back or right-back and already has 62 Championship games under his belt at such an early age, which is why he is attracting so much interest.

Alan Pardew is looking to strengthen his options at the back and it looks as though Iorfa is one of the players he intends to bring in.
