Crystal Palace 1-1 Bournemouth: Five Findings

Crystal Palace picked up their first point of the campaign after a hard fought 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at Selhurst Park.

The Cherries got off to a bright start with Josh King breaking the deadlock early in the first half.

Palace were confident and in control of possession and did everything but score. Yohan Cabaye even missed a penalty in the first half after new £27 million signing Christian Benteke was fouled inside the box but the Frenchman’s strike was saved by Artur Boruc.

The Eagles looked sharper after the break and had two attempts cleared off the line and as the game wore on, it looked as though Alan Pardew’s team would be resigned to their third consecutive defeat of the season.

However, deep into stoppage time, Jason Puncheon provided the cross for skipper Scott Dann to head in the crucial equaliser, much to the relief of the fans and the manager.
