Chung-Yong Lee scores in World Cup qualifier

Crystal Palace midfielder Chung-Yong Lee scored the second goal for South Korea in their 2018 World Cup Qualifier against China in Seoul.

The 28-year-old who joined from Bolton in 2015 has featured on four occasions for the Eagles so far this season, leading up to the call-up to the South Korean squad during this current international break.

Lee scored what was his 8th goal in 73 appearances for the Red Devils in the 3-2 win which saw South Korea put themselves in a commanding position shortly after 60 minutes to the game, leading by three goals.

China made attempts to get back into the game late on but their two goals weren’t enough to rattle the South Korean defence enough too score an equalising goal.

South Korea face Syria next in their second Group A game in the third round of qualification for the tournament in Russia in 2018. Other teams in their group include Iran, Qatar & Uzbekistan.
