Crystal Palace fell to their fifth defeat in five games to Manchester City at Selhurst Park in what was a good performance that was let down by defensive lapses, yet again.
Yaya Toure was gifted two goals on his return to the starting line-up after a lengthy time on the sideline with the first being given to him after a mistake from Martin Kelly, who has been showing poor form recently, with the second seeing him unmarked on a corner in the second half.
Connor Wickham came on at half-time to score the Eagles’ only goal of the game after a sustained amount of pressure from Pardew’s side with the Palace boss releasing that pressure not long after the equaliser by replacing Christian Benteke for Chung-Yong Lee.
