Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul at the last minute, with fellow London club Watford reportedly in pole position to sign the player, according to Mirror Sport.
Krul has failed to make a single appearance at Ajax, who has been on loan, following a serious knee injury he sustained in 2015. The 28-year-old’s stay at the Dutch side is due to be cut short due to a lack of appearances.
The Holland-born goalkeeper has made 185 appearances for the first team during his time at Newcastle after joining the under-18 squad in 2006, going on to make his debut in August 2009.

The Eagles have been struggling at the back this season, conceding 41 goals, the fourth highest in the Premier League. It has also been a struggle with clean sheets for Allardyce’s side in this campaign with only two clean sheets in the league.
Steve Mandanda was signed from Marseille in the summer but has spent a large amount of time on the sideline due to injury this season and is slowly returning to full fitness. Wayne Hennessey has been in goal for Palace during his absence.
Mandanda has been linked with a move back to his former club during this transfer window, on multiple occasions, however nothing concrete has come with those rumours.
