Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Pucheon believes that team are beginning to understand what manager Sam Allardyce wants from the players, following Saturday’s 1-0 win over relegation rivals Middlesbrough.
The three points took the Eagles out of the relegation zone and closing in on the teams above them, following poor results from teams surrounding Palace.
“You saw the benefits of working more on what he wants from us players. That showed on Saturday. I think we are starting to understand what he wants from us,” said Puncheon to London Evening Standard Sport.
“It has been difficult for both the fans and the players but it is nice to go home with a smile on your face knowing that you are out of the bottom three.

“That win was needed. I think that was the best we have played in a long time at home, perhaps even going back to last season. We have got to build on this now. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into the West Brom game next week.”
Palace have 13 games remaining in the Premier League this season and will have to take advantage of the more winnable games with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, United and City all still on the fixture list for the Eagles.
