Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke has admitted that he is trying to persuade Mamadou Sakho to stay at the club beyond his current loan spell, the Evening Standard have reported.
The Frenchman signed for the Eagles on deadline day of the January transfer window and has since made a huge impact on Palace’s hope for Premier League survival.
I’m trying to persuade him to stay but it will be tough. He’ll have offers from other clubs, although our chairman and boss will try to get him to stay too.
Sakho’s brought stability to the defence and has found his form again after what has been an extremely difficult past season at Liverpool, with him only playing five Under-23 games.

Benteke on the other hand has found his feet once again, as well.
The Belgium international is living up to his £30 million price tag after his own move from Liverpool in the last summer, and has been firing for Palace in the recent weeks.
He’s made such a difference to us. First, we have to make sure we remain in the Prem – but we’re not far away now.
Both Benteke and Sakho are pivotal figures for Palace ahead of the remaining few games of the season, with Sam Allardyce looking to achieve maximum points to end the campaign on a high.
