Crystal Palace are reportedly one of several Premier League clubs keen to land out of favour Manchester United defender Chris Smalling this summer.
According to a report from the Daily Star today, United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on offloading the England international this summer. This has prompted the likes of Palace, Everton and West Ham to express an interest in signing him.
Smalling had fallen somewhat out of favour in Mourinho’s plans throughout the course of the 2016/17 season, and it’s not looking likely that he’ll have a big part to play in the coming campaign.

United are close to officially signing Benfica centre back Victor Lindelof for a fee upwards of £30m, and this is set to spell the end of Smalling’s tenure at Old Trafford.
Palace may be looking towards the powerful defender as an alternative to Mamadou Sakho, who looks to be out of the Eagles’ financial reach this summer.
