Palace may face competition for Khouma Babacar

Crystal Palace may face competition from Roma for target Khouma Babacar from Fiorentina, according to reports from Inside Futbol.

Babacar, 24, has been on the Eagles’ radar for some time, and is now attracting interest from fellow Premier League side West Brom and potentially AS Roma, if Edin Dzeko heads to Chelsea in the current window.

The striker’s current contract with the Italian side expires at the end of next season, and the Senegalese international has found the back of the net five times in 17 appearances in all competitions this season so far.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is desperate to bring in some firepower up front in the next two weeks, with current forward Christian Benteke only managing one goal all season.

The Eagles will be hoping that Dzeko doesn’t swap Rome for London this month, as that potential deal may give them more competition for their number one target this month.
