Palace to return in the summer with fresh Tufan bid
Crystal Palace are yet to give up hope over a move for Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan, saying they will ‘talk again in the summer’.
Sport Witness have reported that the Eagles had agreed an £8m deal for the Turkish midfielder, but the deal was called off at the last minute.
Tufan was said to be disappointed over the collapsed move, but an alleged email sent to the player, after the move broke down, has suggested Palace will return at the end of the season.
It was reported that the Premier League side claimed they thought Tufan was “a good young player” and that they “believe in him”, which implies a second bid is on the cards.
The 22-year-old was left out of Fenerbahce’s latest squad to face Genclerbirligi and finds himself in a difficult situation under Aykut Kocaman at the Super Lig outfit.
Tufan has been capped 39 times by the Turkish national team.
