Crystal Palace player ratings: Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace suffered yet another defeat, this time to the hands of Chelsea.
The Eagles battled hard but were unable to get past the champions, as Palace still sit in the relegation places in the Premier League table.
It started badly for Palace when Willian scored Chelsea’s first of the evening. The Brazilian was aided by a deflection by Martin Kelly.
Kelly was also involved in the second, as an unlucky deflection gave Chelsea their second. The former Liverpool player did well to clear Davide Zappacosta’s shot off the line, but the ball then hit Eagles goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey before taking a deflection off Kelly and going in.
Palace did show some signs of getting back into the game, with Patrick van Aanholt scoring a goal late on for the Eagles, but it wasn’t enough.
Palace remain in the bottom three, as Chelsea look to secure Champions League football for next season.
