Crystal Palace face competition to complete a deal for Vicente Guaita after it has emerged that Fiorentina also want to sign him.
Italian outlet Calciomercato are reporting that Palace had hoped that they would be able to sign Guaita for free in the summer. Since then though others have emerged to be interested in the Getafe player and it is now unclear whether he will join the Eagles.

Fiorentina finished eighth in Serie A last season and even though they missed out on the Europa League by losing their final two games, that move could appeal to the Spaniard. Guaita knows that if he chooses the Italian side he will more than likely be their first choice between the posts.
Marco Sportiello had been Fiorentina’s number one when he joined on loan but his performances often let the side down, so he has since returned to his parent club Atalanta.
The battle for Guaita appears to be ongoing, and Roy Hodgson will hope his side’s form over the second half of the Premier League season will appeal to Guaita more than Serie A.
