Palace unlikely to pursue interest in goalkeeper Alban Lafont

Despite reports yesterday linking Palace with a move for France Under-20 goalkeeper Alban Lafont, it has now been reported by the Guardian that Roy Hodgson’s men are unlikely to pursue their interest.

According to the report, the Eagles had been extensively scouting the young goalkeeper last season, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, and were preparing to offer the 19 year old the guarantee of being first choice at the club.

However, due to the impeding arrival of Vicente Guaita from Getafe on a free trasnfer, this deal looks unlikely to happen, although the club remain interested.

This didn’t stop fans though, as many have shown excitement on Twitter, and look forward to the possibility of such a talented youngster joining the club.
