Chung-yong Lee faces injury concern ahead of World Cup

Crystal Palace midfielder Chung-yong Lee has been dealt an injury concern ahead of this summer’s World Cup, as reported by Football London.

Lee is in contention to be on the plane to Russia with his South Korean teammates but after sustaining an injury in a friendly with his country, there is a fear that he may be facing a race against time to be fit for the tournament.

The Eagles midfielder has not featured regularly in recent times for Palace but remains an important player for South Korea as they gear up for the World Cup.

Lee sustained a hip injury earlier on in the week during South Korea’s encounter with Honduras. This meant that he was forced to sit out of Friday afternoon’s friendly match with Bosnia & Herzegovina as the team continued their preparations for the World Cup.

The experienced midfielder will be hopeful of making it back in time for the trip to Russia but caution will now need to be taken.
