Crystal Palace prepared to offload Christian Benteke
Crystal Palace are prepared to listen to offers for misfiring striker Christian Benteke this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
The Eagles and their manager Roy Hodgson have been patient with Benteke throughout the course of the past season but the forward has simply failed to produce for Palace.
Benteke found the net on only three occasions last season, with Palace relying heavily on Wilfried Zaha to provide the goals in the Premier League.
The Belgian international was tipped for big things at Selhurst Park following his £27 million move from Liverpool two years ago but things have simply not worked out for Benteke in South London.
Benteke’s recent misery was compounded on Monday, also. Roberto Martinez took the decision to exclude the striker from his 23-man Belgium squad for this month’s World Cup in Russia.
A move to the Chinese Super League could be on the cards for Benteke, who will be looking to revitalise his career away from Palace, it seems.
