Crystal Palace eye swoop for Giannelli Imbula
Crystal Palace have reportedly been in contact with Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula’s representatives ahead of a potential move this summer.
The former Porto midfielder spent the duration of last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse after struggling to make an impression under Mark Hughes at Stoke.
Imbula is all but set to leave the Potters this summer after returning from his loan spell in his homeland of France, but a stay in England could yet be on the cards.
According to claims from RMC Sport, as cited in a report from GFFN, Palace have contacted Imbula’s entourage to gauge their chances of landing the towering midfielder this summer.
Imbula, who joined Stoke from Porto for a fee believed to be in the region of £18m, is said to be keen on staying in France for the foreseeable future, but a move back to the Premier League could be of interest.
However, Palace face competition in their apparent pursuit of the player. It’s believed by RMC that Newcastle United, Torino and Galatasaray are also keen to recruit Imbula this summer.
