Palace tasted defeat at home. Despite holding firm for the majority of the first half against the rampant Liverpool strike-force, a controversial and contentious penalty after Mohamed Salah was ‘tripped’ inside the box by Mamadou Sakho. This changed the completion of the game, but still saw Roy Hodgson’s side in the game before Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off for bringing down Salah and Sadio Mane scored after a swift counter-attack.
Was it a penalty? (No) Was it a red card? (Yes, but harsh) How much of a miss will Aaron Wan-Bissaka be? Just what is it about Sadio Mane and scoring goals against Crystal Palace? Where will Max Meyer fit into the Palace system?
