Scott Dann reveals timeframe for first team return

Palace defender Scott Dann has revealed that he could be back in contention to return to first team action in the next couple of months.

The defender suffered a knee injury back on New Year’s Eve last year, meaning that he has been out of action for several months.

However Dann played 45 minutes against Dulwich Hamlet on Thursday, and the Palace defender is optimistic he will be able to return soon.

Speaking to Football London, Dann said that he enjoyed his return to action, but is not expecting an instant return to the lineup.

I really enjoyed it, it’s been a long time coming.

It is nice to be back out there and get 45 minutes under my belt.

“That has been the plan all along, get myself to the stage where I am ready to play games and then build up the minutes gradually before going straight back in to being available for the first team.

Being out for such a long time, it is just important to make sure you make the right choices.

Asked when he could return to Palace, Dann added:

I think it all depends on when the games are coming.

I will probably play a couple of friendlies, or U23 games, and hopefully they come sooner rather than later.

I am guessing in the next few weeks I will get three or four games under my belt and then by November, December I will be ready to get back out there.
