The Evening Standard are reporting that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is open to a loan move back to Crystal Palace.
Despite Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri continuing to brush aside reports that Loftus-Cheek is not in his plans at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder is still wary of his future at the club and how it can affect his chances of playing for England.
Loftus-Cheek had this to say:
It is good to hear him say that, but I’m just concentrating on the here and now. A lot can change in football in a short space of time. I don’t look too far ahead.
I am in a happier head space now. I think months ago, in the summer, I wasn’t sure what was happening. I’d hoped to have had more appearances so it is hard.

But it’s important to be patient in life, not just football. If I stay patient I’m in a better head space to learn rather than being in a frustrated place, wasting time with negative energy.
Loftus-Cheek spent the 2017/2018 season on loan at Crystal Palace and impressed playing week in week out which of course led to him being selected in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, where he also impressed when he played.
Both Palace and Bundesliga side Schalke had offers for the midfielder rejected in the summer, so if Loftus-Cheek was available for loan, they could come back and challenge Palace for his signature.
In his rationed performances this season, he scored the first hat trick of his career in the Europa League.
