Roma considering Patrick van Aanholt move

According to the Guardian, Italian giants Roma are interested in securing the services of Crystal Palace full back Patrick van Aanholt in January.

The 28-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Eagles under Roy Hodgson over the past 12 months, after originally joining the club from Sunderland last year.

The left-back, who has also turned out for the likes of Chelsea, Leicester City and Vitesse during his career, has made over 60 appearances for Palace and his recent performances have attracted interest from Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco.

Current Roma left-back Alexsandar Kolarov has been a regular for the club this season, however, with the Serbian turning 33 last month, Roma officials are looking to add another left-back to compete with the former Manchester City defender.

Palace reportedly value van Aanholt at £25 million, something which Roma may well act on in the new year.

Juventus have also been interested in the Netherlands’ international, however, after their left-back Alex Sandro signed a new deal recently, they have reportedly cooled their interest in the defender.
