Palace set to be Spurs’ first opponents at new stadium

Tottenham have confirmed that Crystal Palace will be the first visitors to their new stadium, BBC Sport have reported.

Roy Hodgson’s side will travel to Spurs’ new stadium on Wednesday 3rd April, ending months of speculation as to when the ground will host it’s first fixture.

Spurs had hoped to have moved into the stadium at the start of this season, but numerous delay’s have resulted in the postponement of their first match at the ground, which is located at the site of former home White Hart Lane.

However, Brighton’s FA Cup victory over Millwall means that Palace will be the first side to travel to face Spurs at their new 62,000 capacity stadium, with the Seagulls’ clash with Tottenham pushed back.

Palace host Huddersfield after the international break, and will be looking for a positive result against the Premier League’s bottom side, before the midweek trip to Spurs.

Juan Foyth was the surprise scorer as Tottenham saw off Palace in the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park earlier this season.
