Crystal Palace were expectedly beaten on Sunday as they lost 3-1 to Manchester City.
Raheem Sterling scored twice to put City in a commanding position, but Palace captain Luka Milivojevic halved the deficit with a superb free-kick heading into the final ten minutes.
Gabriel Jesus then made sure of the result for City as he scored in the 90th minute to make it 3-1.
Here are four things we learned from Palace’s defeat…
Palace need left-back depth
Palace need to sign a left-back in the summer to give Van Aanholt some competition for his place. Too complacent of late.
Lacking something up front
Palace lacked a cutting edge going forward, which has often been a problem for Hodgson’s side this season. They need to find a solution, whether that be tactically or in the transfer market.
Palace need to keep Guaita
There has been some talk of Guaita returning to Spain in the summer, but Palace need to keep him. He’s been in impressive form of late and could be a key player next season.
Palace need to improve their defensive options
Palace have been struck by injuries at the back this season and have ended up needing to call on Scott Dann again. Hodgson should have his eye on signing a new central defender in the next window.
