Crystal Palace are never a side to overlook in the Premier League, especially when visiting the Eagles’ home at Selhurst Park.
Although they have struggled to certify themselves as anything other than a mid-table team over the last few seasons – their best finish being 10th place in 2015 – their ability to keep even the best teams at bay is often astonishing.
They did so this term after reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, defeating London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the process, only to bow out to a tough Watford side.
What they lack is an attacking threat that can properly challenge the top half of the table and earn more points to help challenge for European qualification.
Their star player, Wilfried Zaha, has accumulated plenty of interest from the top six clubs over recent transfer windows.
With eight goals and eight assists this season, the Ivorian is a vital part of the Palace attack; should they let him go this summer, it is vital they begin to look for a worthy replacement.
In any case, though, the Eagles need more attacking muscle. Here are five players who would add something different to Roy Hodgson’s squad.
A player once adored at Real Madrid, but later rejected by Stoke City, Jese Rodriguez is still only 26.
He is a great dribbler, has technical ability, and has plenty of experience under his belt.
Although currently on loan at Real Betis, he would make a good addition to the Palace squad.
At only 22-years-old, the young winger is able to play across any position up top, and his lightning pace would be a handful for any Premier League full-back.
Currently on loan at Monaco, the 24-year-old French winger would provide a pacey attacking threat who is able to get the ball into the opposition’s box.
When he returns from his loan spell, Tottenham Hotspur will most likely be looking to offload the player, and Palace should be able to snatch him for a relatively cheap price.
Coming through the ranks at Barcelona’s youth academy, the 27-year-old winger has flair and speed, and has a creative footballing mind. He has registered seven assists so far this season for Real Betis.
Another quick, technical attacking talent that would dominate the wings at the South London club. He netted against Manchester City in the group stages of the Champions League last year.
