Roy Hodgson has already started preparing his squad for a re-shape with the imminent departure of Pape Souare and Bakary Sako.
Both players have rarely featured in Crystal Palace’s 2018/19 term in which they secured yet another season of Premier League football.
It is no doubt that Hodgson may be looking to rebuild the team with the possible departure of star winger Wilfried Zaha, who is on the hunt for Champions League football next season.
Club legend Julian Speroni, who spent 15 years at the club, has already confirmed he will be leaving the club along with midfielder Jason Puncheon who has spent a year out on loan at now-relegated Huddersfield.
According to the Standard via HITC, fullback Souare is the next player to make an exit from Selhurst Park with his contract expiring in the summer.
Palace have no intention on renewing the contract either, leaving the 28-year-old without a club after making only four appearances for the Eagles this term.
Left winger Sako’s contract is also due to run its course in the coming weeks and looks also to be on the way out of the club.
The 31-year-old has had an unsuccessful loan spell with West Brom in January, making only five appearances and failing to push them to the Championship play-off final.
A clear out is vital if the club are to push further up the table in the 2019/20 season and it is now down to Hodgson to clear the rest of the deadwood in the squad and bring in some talent to make the push.
Areas where Hodgson could strengthen this summer
The Eagles started the last Premier League fixture with two fullbacks at the heart of the defence, so a central defender could be on the list this summer.
With Palace recently struggling to find a striker who can grab then over 10 Premier League goals a season, the club look set to be in the market for a natural goalscorer once again.
With Wilfried Zaha set to depart, it looks likely that the Eagles will be desperate to replace him, with Everton’s Ademola Lookman being rumoured as a potential target.
Despite Vicente Guaita impressing during the second half of the campaign, Palace could be on the lookout for a young shot-stopper in the upcoming window to rival the Spaniard next season.
