The 2018/19 season is over and Crystal Palace can begin to plan for the new campaign later this year.
Palace managed to secure a comfortable midtable finish in the Premier League, with Roy Hodgson doing a superb job in charge of the club.
There is no doubt that Palace have a busy summer ahead of them, with plenty of players to come in and out of Selhurst Park over the next few months before the start of the 2019/20 season.
Hodgson will be hoping to build a squad capable of kicking on from midtable and potentially pushing to become a top 10 side, competing with the likes of Watford, Leicester and Wolves.
But who should they be looking to sign? Despite their relegations from the Premier League, Palace could look to strike a bargain and land some of the best players from Huddersfield, Cardiff and Fulham.
Here are some players from the relegated sides Palace could target…
Palace are desperately in need of a striker and Aleksandar Mitrovic would fit the bill. He’s still young and a proven goalscorer at this level. He would be a superb signing for Palace.
Palace need goals. Reid managed to score five in a poor Cardiff side, so could thrive under Hodgson at Palace next season if given the chance to impress.
Mooy would be an excellent addition to Palace’s midfield options and could take James McArthur’s place in the side going forward. The Australian is good in the tackle and creative on the ball.
Palace could be looking for a new goalkeeper this summer and Etheridge impressed for Cardiff in the Premier League. He produced a number of fine performances between the sticks to show he has what it takes to make it at the top level.
Grant only joined Huddersfield in January, but he was an instant hit and bagged four Premier League goals for the club. He has clever movement and is a good finisher, so he would be a top addition to Palace’s squad next season.
