Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been named in England’s squad for this summer’s Under-21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino, following a fine campaign for Crystal Palace.
The full-back was one of the standout players for the Eagles this season, helping Roy Hodgson’s side comfortably avoid relegation from the Premier League with a 12th place finish.
His form has been recognised by both senior England boss Gareth Southgate and U21’s manager Aidy Boothroyd, with the former choosing to allow the full-back to have experience in a major tournament this summer rather than be included in England’s squad for the Nations League semi-final next month.

Wan-Bissaka was named in the squad on Monday morning, and the Young Lions are set to travel to their base in Italy on 14 June as favourites for the tournaments in the eyes of a number of bookmakers.
England’s U21’s open their campaign against France, before facing Romania and Croatia respectively in the group stages.
