It’s being reported by Sky Sports News that there are several clubs interested in Brentford’s young English forward Ollie Watkins with Crystal Palace being one of them.
This comes to no surprise as during the last summer transfer window the Evening Standard reported that the Eagles were keen on the 23-year-old forward but couldn’t mount a firm bid for him.
With the Daily Star reporting that Manchester United are keen on re-signing Wilfried Zaha this summer, Watkins could be the man to replace him Selhurst Park.
That wouldn’t be an easy task if it happens as the Ivorian has been instrumental to everything good at the Eagles over the past few seasons.
Watkins scored 10 league goals and assisted six for the Bees this season in the Championship.
Still only 23 years of age, Watkins still has a lot of room for improvement and definitely has the ability to make that all important next step into the Premier League under an experienced manager like Roy Hodgson.
