Palace set to rival West Ham in race for Ajaccio youngster David Abanda

Crystal Palace have made the first move in the race to sign AC Ajaccio midfielder David Abanda this summer, with West Ham also interested in the Frenchman.

Abanda is yet to make a first team appearance for the Ligue 2 side, however his form for the reserve side has reportedly caught the eye of the Premier League duo.

And according to Sport Witness via French outlet L’Equipe, Abanda’s representatives are already in contact with Palace over a potential move this summer.

L’Equipe have reportedly stated that the Eagles have acted ‘quickly’ in their pursuit of the 18-year-old, after revealing that the Premier League duo were both keeping tabs on the youngster.

Abanda’s brother Leroy earned a move from AS Monaco to Serie A giants AC Milan in January, and the midfielder also appears to be on the verge of a big move this summer.

The 18-year-old has just one year remaining on his deal with the Ligue 2 side.
