Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing centre-back Scott Dann from Crystal Palace this summer.
That is according to a report in the Burnley Express, who say various sources have linked the Liverpool-born defender with a £6million move to St James’ Park in the coming months.
The 32-year-old has been at Selhurst Park since joining from Blackburn Rovers on deadline day of the 2014 January transfer window and is now just one game shy of 150 appearances for the Eagles.
Dann would have already reached that milestone if it wasn’t for a cruciate ligament injury, suffered in December 2017, which forced him to miss over 12 months of football.

He did manage to feature in 13 games in all competitions towards the back end of last season, though, completing the full match in ten of those.
Now, Rafa Benitez is hoping to take Dann’s experience to the North East as he plans for a third season back in the Premier League with the Magpies.
Newcastle are in the market for a new defender due to Florian Lejeune’s injury problems.
Like Dann, the Frenchman was unavailable for the first 21 games of the last campaign due to a cruciate ligament injury, before suffering the same injury in his other knee less than three months later.
The signing of Dann could be complicated by the possible takeover at Newcastle, with Mike Ashley hesitant to spend any more money on a club he could be departing before the start of 2019/20 season.
