Napoli enter the race for Palace target Castagne

Crystal Palace could face competition from Napoli in their pursuit of Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne.

According to claims from Radio Marte, as cited in a report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have entered the race to sign the Belgium international.

The Eagles have long been linked with a swoop for Castagne, and it has recently been indicated that the South London club will step up their pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Palace recently lost Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, with the England Under-21 international sealing a £50 million switch to Old Trafford.

Roy Hodgson is now looking to sign a new right-back ahead of the 2019/20 season, and if reports are to be believed, Atalanta star Castagne is among the options under consideration.

Napoli are on the lookout for a new full-back, it seems, and while Calciomercato’s report indicates that their priority is strengthening the left-hand side, the Belgian has been identified as a target this summer.
