Everton have submitted a £55million bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha but haven’t included any players in the initial offer.
Zaha has made his desire to leave Selhurst Park known and was originally eyeing a move to Arsenal, but Palace’s valuation put the Gunners off and they now look set to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol took to Twitter this afternoon to reveal Everton have submitted a club-record offer for the Ivory Coast international:
Twitter: Everton have made £55m bid to Crystal Palace for Wilfried Zaha. No players involved. Just £55m (@SkyKaveh)
It’s expected that offer may not be enough to prize Zaha away from Palace, with the Eagles already losing key defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50million this summer.
Initial reports suggested Everton would submit an offer of around £60million plus a player, thought to be striker Cenk Tosun, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see an improved bid if this one is turned down.
