Crystal Palace are expected to return with a second bid for Brentford forward Ollie Watkins before the transfer deadline, according to Mirror Sport.
The Eagles have already had an £11million offer rejected by the Bees, with Roy Hodgson supposedly targeting the 23-year old due to his lack of firepower currently in the Palace squad.
Palace have just Christian Benteke, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha to play up front this season, with Connor Wickham and Alexander Sorloth both not likely to make an impact, and with Zaha’s future uncertain, the former England manager is keen on bringing in more players to deepen his options.

While Palace are also believed to be interested in Watkins’ Brentford teammate Neal Maupay, Mirror Sport claim that the Croydon club will up their offer in an attempt to land the striker.
Watkins, who has also been linked with Palace’s bitter rivals Brighton this summer, has been left out of pre-season preparations at Griffin Park due to the uncertainty of his future.
