Crystal Palace Predicted XI: Spurs (A)

Off the back of a thrilling international break, Palace will look to ride the crest of a wave after decisive victories over Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Roy’s boys are certainly up for a challenge, with an away trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium set for this coming Saturday at 3pm. Against a ‘top six’ side, Palace’s good form will be tested once again.

Having surpassed his second anniversary at his boyhood club, Roy Hodgson will have prepared a slick, well-oiled red-and-blue machine. He remains renewed in his commitment, with hard preparations on and off the training ground pitch playing a key role in Palace’s fortunes.

It remains anyone’s guess whether new signings Victor Camarasa and James McCarthy will make a meaningful start after limited playing time under Roy’s stewardship. With an experienced, tested squad and a competitive midfield, there’s no reason why Roy would be inclined to dramatically shuffle the pack.

Here, I predict a compelling line-up that could give Spurs an unexpectedly potent surprise. Both teams will be keen to impress, though Palace so far stand ahead of Spurs in the table and are the highest-placed London club thus far.

However, recent successes required recent changes; there’s certainly a few unconventional choices that could be justified ahead of Saturday’s tough fixture for the Eagles…
