Palace Chairman and part-owner Steve Parish has revealed that a “big announcement” is incoming about the future of Crystal Palace’s academy.
Speaking at the launch of the “Team of the eighties” documentary, Parish revealed that an announcement will be before Christmas, with Palace talking with several key people about their plans for the academy.

Speaking to Football London, Parish also talked about some of the plans around Palace’s redevelopment of Selhurst Park.
When you see 52,000 in Selhurst, you know what this club is capable of, and what we could set fire to. That’s what I am trying to bring back, and I think we have had moments, we really have, and hopefully we are still on that path.
I don’t want this to be another missed opportunity, and I have been saying this for ten years.
The stadium we are moving forward as well, and the team we have to try and be smart about the things that we do, while we build the club in other ways.

This is great for Palace, and could see more talents come through the youth setup at the Eagles.
Could Palace compete with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in terms of developing top youth talents?
We will have to see, but any investment into the youth setup is not a bad thing at all.
