Zahavi trying to broker £80m Spurs move for Zaha

Well-known football agent Pini Zahavi is reportedly trying to broker a deal between Crystal Palace and Tottenham for Wilfried Zaha.

According to The Mail, as cited on the London Evening Standard, Zahavi has been put to work to find the Ivorian international a new club.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park for some time and Zahavi is now believed to be sounding out some of Europe’s top clubs.

Arsenal were among the front runners to sign the player in the summer but their £40m offer, as per the BBC, fell short of Palace’s £80m asking price.

Zahavi, who GFFN described as a ‘super-agent’, has links to Portugal, Neymar and has previously worked with Spurs through the deals to sign Serge Aurier and Lucas.

Palace must ensure that they approach Zaha’s future with caution. While of course, the Ivorian, who WhoScored have given an average rating of 7.18 this season, is an extremely talented player – there doesn’t appear to be too many interested parties, especially at the going rate of £80 million.

The Mirror say that Chelsea are cooling their interest and turning their attention to a potential future move to sign Jadon Sancho.

Meanwhile, Arsenal completed a big-money summer deal to sign Nicolas Pepe, worth a reported £72m, which would raise concerns about any serious long-term interest in Zaha, who plays in a similar position.

Interestingly, transfermarkt only value Zaha at around £50 million, which shows that Palace should consider lowering their asking price if they want to cash in on the player in the near future.
