Palace willing to let Benteke leave on loan this month

Crystal Palace are ready to let striker Christian Benteke leave on loan this month, according to a report on the Daily Mail.

The Belgian international is currently heavily out of favour at Selhurst Park and has only played 486 minutes of league football this season.

As stated in the report, Palace are keen to allow the player to move in an attempt to help the former Liverpool striker rejuvenate his stuttering career.

The report on the Daily Mail also states that fellow top-flight club Aston Villa are considering a bid for the 29-year-old, with Villa fans desperate to see him return to Villa Park.

The striker has become a stranger to goals and as reported on the Birmingham Mail, he’s only found the net once in his last 37 Palace appearances.

I believe Palace are doing the right thing by allowing him to secure a loan move because maybe that will allow him to get more playing time and therefore, a few more goals to boost his confidence.

With Palace having already added Cenk Tosun to their squad, it makes sense to offload Benteke, but the Express and Star claim that his high wages are putting Villa off at the moment.
