Crystal Palace have held talks with Krzysztof Piatek’s agent about a potential January move to Selhurst Park, but they face competition from Premier League rivals Everton.

According to the Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 66, January 19), as cited on HITC, Palace have held initial talks over a deal for Piatek, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro this month.

The report on HITC names Tottenham and Sevilla as two teams who could provide competition in the race to sign the Polish forward.

As a result of the rising interest in Piatek, Palace may risk missing out on the striker, especially after the recent loan signing of Cenk Tosun from Everton.

Piatek has previously expressed his desire to join a big club this month, if he is to leave Milan, as per the Daily Mail, who cite Calcio Mercato.

When you see some of the names linked with moves for Piatek, including Spurs and Sevilla – Palace may struggle to convince the player to move to London. Both Mourinho’s Spurs and Sevilla are vying for European qualification in the Premier League and La Liga respectively and on paper could be viewed as more appealing options for the former Genoa star.
