Crystal Palace are unable to recall striker Alexander Sorloth from his loan spell with Trabzonspor at the end of the season, according to a report on Turkish Football.

The striker made the move to the Super Lig in August 2019, signing a deal until the end of next season.

It has now emerged that there is no recall clause in his contract, meaning he won’t be able to return to the Premier League club earlier than expected.

The news comes as a slight blow for the Eagles because the Norway international has been in prolific goalscoring form ever since moving to Turkey.

He had netted 19 times in all competitions for Trabzonspor (Transfermarkt) after failing to find the net even once in the Premier League for Roy Hodgson’s side.

Goals are drying up for Palace this season and they have found the net the fewest times of any club in the top-flight this season, which we believe should be a cause for concern.

Not being able to recall the forward could prove to be costly, especially because it could mean that the club will need to dip into the transfer market to sign a new striker.

Should Palace have included a recall option for Sorloth?
