Palace interested in Fenerbahce’s Ozan Tufan

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan, according to a report on Fotospor.

The Turkish news outlet claims that fellow Premier League side Leicester City and Spanish La Liga side Sevilla are also keen to make a move for Tufan.

However, Fenerbahce’s officials will not consider any offer below €20m for the midfielder, who recently signed a contract extension with the Super Lig side until 2023.

The central midfielder has managed to find the back of the net twice this season in the Turkish top flight, whilst also registering five assists in his 21 appearances (Transfermarkt).

Along with an eye for goal, Tufan is a player that is strong at tackling and retaining possession of the ball, as stated in his list of strengths by WhoScored. Therefore, we feel that he could slot into Palace’s midfield three perfectly because of his ability to impact the match at both sides of the pitch.

Cheikhou Kouyate could be one man that Tufan might replace because the 30-year-old only has one goal and one assist this season, meaning Tufan is enjoying a far superior season as things stand.

We also believe Tufan could be a great addition to the Palace squad because he is vastly experienced at an international level, making 49 appearances for the Turkey national team, including at the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament, where he got his name on the scoresheet.
