Crystal Palace’s move for Belgium international winger Yannick Carrasco broke down due to interference from intermediaries, according to a report on Get Football News France, who quote France Football.
The report reveals that the Premier League side pushed hard to sign Carrasco last month, offering him a big salary and a four-year contract.
Footmercato reported in January that Palace were the only ‘serious’ option for the winger, but he eventually ended up returning to Atletico Madrid from Dalian Yifang on a loan deal until the end of the season.

We believe that signing a player like Carrasco could have been a massive boost to the entire Palace squad because of his quality and high profile, having starred on the biggest stages in football, playing in the World Cup and even netting in a UEFA Champions League final.
Another thing we believe he could have brought to the team is goals – something that manager Roy Hodgson wants in abundance.
The 26-year-old has 67 league goals in his career and could have potentially been a long-term replacement for Wilfried Zaha as question marks remain over the Ivory Coast international’s future at the club.
We feel that Palace should still pursue Carrasco in the summer after his loan with Atletico ends because if Zaha does leave, then the club will be short on wingers, especially with the current fitness issues that Andros Townsend and Jeffrey Schlupp have.
