Leeds United have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to a report from The Mirror.

Leeds are hopeful of earning promotion to the Premier League and if they are successful in their aim of finally getting back into the top-flight, manager Marcelo Bielsa is expected to make signing a new striker a top priority.

Palace have also been linked with the Frenchman, although Celtic remain adamant that they don’t want to sell their star forward.

Like numerous clubs in England and abroad, Palace could do with a talismanic goal scorer like Edouard, who has scored goals for fun at Celtic.

Of course, the standard of play in England will be higher than that in Scotland but Edouard has shown that he is a natural finisher and he’d likely be confident of transferring his performances in Scotland to the Premier League.

However, Celtic are in no rush to sell their star player and as such, they’ve slapped a £40m price tag on his head.

At that price, it’s hard to see Palace or Leeds making a move for the forward, but if Celtic’s stance changes, then the forward should be a player who Palace seriously consider buying.
