Nigerian QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel is reportedly stalling on signing a new deal, according to Sky Sports [Transfer Centre, 8:03am, 09/09/2020].

The right-sided attacker is holding out for a Premier League move, with the Eagles reportedly keen on procuring his services.

The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Selhurst Park in recent days, but QPR are reportedly keen for Osayi-Samuel to sign a new deal in order to prevent him from leaving on either a cheap or free transfer over the next 12 months.

QPR activated an automatic 12 month contract extension before the impact of the pandemic halted football across Europe, although the player is still able to leave for a fee of around £4.7 million – as this sum was accepted when Club Brugge made two offers for the player.

The player rejected a move to the Belgian giants as he is keen to play for Crystal Palace. They remain the only Premier League suitor with confirmed interest, having scouted the player for more than a year.

Crystal Palace also signed Bright’s close friend Eberechi Eze in a deal worth £20m from QPR last month.

Rangers believe the right-sided player needs another year with them in the Championship but would be open to selling now if he could be loaned back for this season.

Although Palace would likely not want to loan the winger back to QPR, Rangers may be tempted to cash in regardless in order to command a fee for their young starlet.
