- Team news and prediction
Crystal Palace are on the brink of making history and reaching their first-ever European final. Tonight’s UEFA Conference League semi-final second-leg against Shakhtar Donetsk could prove to be another famous European night.
Palace have put themselves in control of the tie after beating the Ukrainians 3-1 in the first leg last week. Goals from Ismaila Sarr, Daichi Kamada and Jorgen Strand Larsen saw Oliver Glasner’s men take one giant step towards a final in Leipzig.
There is still work to do though as Shakhtar are still hopeful of staging a remarkable turnaround at Selhurst Park.

Team News
Glasner has confirmed that four players are unavailable for tonight’s game although Will Hughes is back after missing the 3-0 loss to Bournemouth on Sunday. The English midfielder was absent through illness.
There were hopes of Evann Guessand recovering from a knee injury for the game. His manager has ruled him out as the semi-final has come to soon for the Ivorian winger.
Eddie Nketiah and Cheick Doucoure will miss the rest of the season. Borna Sosa is also out of action although he might return before the campaign concludes.
Expected XI
There shouldn’t be any changes made to the team that prevailed in Krakow last Thursday. That means Dean Henderson starts in goal, with Chris Richards, Maxence Lacroix and Jaydee Canvot in defence.
Adam Wharton and Kamada should partner one another in central midfield, with Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell at wing back. Sarr can win the Golden Boot should he score and he’ll continue out on the right with Jean-Philippe Mateta leading the line and Yeremy Pino on the left.
Crystal Palace Expected XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Canvot; Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Pino
Prediction
Palace are so close to reaching Leipzig but will quickly need to put the terrible defeat to Bournemouth behind them. The win over Shakhtar was deserved and Glasner’s men should be able to win at home against the Ukrainian outfit.
Sarr will be eager to get on the scoresheet to seal the Golden Boot and we expect him to do so. Mateta might also be on target for the Eagles who can start booking their flight to Germany.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-0 Shakhtar Donetsk
