- Real Madrid want Ex-Crystal Palace star Michael Olise
- Florentino Perez could sanction £130m swoop
- How much the Eagles stand to make if deal goes through
Crystal Palace will be hoping that Real Madrid pull off the signing of Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise. The Frenchman has emerged as the ‘Galactico’ target Florentino Perez has been teasing.
According to The Telegraph, Perez wants to make a £130m move for Olise. The Madrid president claimed on Thursday that the 24-year-old wasn’t the player he had been eyeing, but reports state otherwise.
Olise was the star of the show when Bayern beat Madrid 6-4 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. He has starred throughout his time at the Allianz Arena.
Crystal Palace will want Olise move
Olise joined Bayern from Palace back in the summer of 2024 in a £50.8m deal. He has lit up German football ever since making the switch and this season is in contention to win the Ballon d’Or.
Madrid president Perez appears to have set his sights on the France international. He wants to sign the winger in an £130m deal in this transfer window.
If Olise were to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, he’d reportedly bank Palace £19.5m due to a 15% sell-on clause. That money can be added to the club’s transfer budget and highlights how strong Steve Parish and his board are at negotiating such deals.
Olise has appeared 52 times across competitions this season, posting 22 goals and 31 assists. He shone every time he had the football at his feet against Madrid, scoring and assisting in both legs of Bayern’s quarter-final win.
Olise now a Galactico talent
The fact that Perez looks to have labelled Olise a ‘Galactico’ level signing speaks volumes about the Frenchman’s rise and world-class ability. Palace fans had long known just how talented the winger was but he’s put his name up in lights in Bavaria.
The Galactico term is used only for footballing superstars who move to the Bernabéu. Think of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Gareth Bale, and Kylian Mbappe.
Palace unearthed France’s shining star, who many are backing to fire them to World Cup glory this summer. Back at Selhurst Park, Parish might just be checking the rumour mill to see if Madrid does make a concrete move for his former player.
