Bayern Munich are reportedly moving to extend Michael Olise’s contract beyond 2029, less than two years after signing him from Crystal Palace.
The German champions are said to have opened exploratory talks over a new deal, with the former Palace winger already viewed internally as a player worth protecting from Europe’s richest suitors. Reports in Germany claim Bayern could push his salary towards the elite bracket, a rapid escalation for a player who left Selhurst Park in 2024.

Palace Sale Looks Sharper As Olise Value Soars
For Crystal Palace, the development sharpens the wider reading of that exit. Bayern agreed a deal worth up to EUR60 million, around GBP50.7 million, including add-ons, at a point when Olise’s ceiling was obvious but not yet fully priced by the market.
That fee now looks less like a ceiling and more like a staging post. Palace supporters will naturally wonder what he would be worth in the 2026 market, especially with Bayern treating him as a long-term cornerstone and Real Madrid noise already forcing public denials.
The Selhurst Park lesson is uncomfortable but clear. Palace developed a rare creator, extracted a major fee, then watched an elite club turn him into an even bigger asset. The next challenge is ensuring the same talent pipeline around Adam Wharton, Daniel Munoz and the club’s emerging attackers does not leave Palace permanently selling before the final jump in value.
