Crystal Palace have confirmed that Josie Green has signed a new contract, keeping her in South London until the summer of 2027.
The Wales international joined Palace in 2024 and has become an important senior figure in the women’s squad. Palace first signed Green from Leicester City after her spell at Tottenham Hotspur, adding WSL experience and international pedigree to the group.
Green’s extension gives Palace continuity before the new campaign. It also keeps a proven midfielder at the club as the squad continues to develop under Jo Potter.
ReadCrystalPalace has recently covered how Palace are moving carefully to shape the wider squad before the new season. Green’s new deal gives the women’s side another piece of stability.
Palace Keep Experienced Midfield Voice
Green brings more than minutes on the pitch.
She has played in the WSL with Tottenham, Leicester and Palace, and her Wales experience gives the squad another calm senior presence. That matters for a team trying to build consistency and leadership.
Her new contract also sends the right message. Palace need to keep players who understand the level, the dressing room and the demands of the season.
The deal runs until 2027, giving both club and player clarity before the campaign begins.
For Palace, this is a sensible retention move. Green has experience, versatility and the character to help guide a squad that still has plenty of room to grow.
The club’s summer will still need further work, but keeping Green is a useful step.
