Crystal Palace Secure Massive Boost as Captain Dean Henderson Signs New Long-Term Deal
Crystal Palace have announced a major statement of intent with the news that European trophy-winning captain Dean Henderson has signed a new long-term contract with the club, committing his future to Selhurst Park until 2030.
The influential goalkeeper who famously lifted the UEFA Conference League trophy in Leipzig before helping England secure a historic finish at the World Cup has put pen to paper on a bumper extension, ending any lingering speculation surrounding his future following summer interest from Nottingham Forest.
Since arriving from Manchester United in August 2023 in a deal worth approximately £20 million, Henderson has established himself as the undisputed cornerstone of the Eagles’ project under South London. The fan favourite has made 119 appearances in a Palace shirt, recording 38 clean sheets and earning five senior international caps along the way.
Henderson’s contributions are already etched into club folklore. From his crucial penalty save that kept Palace in front against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final, to his heroic stops against Liverpool to secure the Community Shield at Wembley, and wearing the armband throughout the UEFA Conference League knockout stages en route to glory in Leipzig, the 29-year-old has been at the heart of the club’s golden era.
Speaking about his new contract, Henderson said:
“I’m delighted. It’s been an amazing three years – and I’m just so happy to extend my contract. My best years are in front of me and I’m happy to be giving that to Crystal Palace.”
The agreement comes as a massive boost as Henderson works his way back to full fitness following an ankle injury sustained in pre-season. Having successfully warded off summer advances from Forest and tied down their inspirational leader for the long haul, Palace have secured their number one for the years ahead.
