Crystal Palace face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, with Pierre Sage having a few selection decisions to make ahead of the Premier League derby.
The Eagles head into the game after a 3-2 Europa League defeat to Lyon. Jean-Philippe Mateta returns on the bench after missing the midweek match, but Axel Disasi is suspended and Chadi Riad remains unavailable.
Crystal Palace confirmed lineup vs Brighton
Crystal Palace have confirmed their starting XI, with Ahanor coming into the back three alongside Chris Richards and Jaydee Canvot. Walter Benitez starts in goal, while Disasi misses out as he serves the final game of his league suspension.
Crystal Palace XI:
Benitez; Ahanor, Richards, Canvot; Khalaili, Wharton, Timber, Mitchell; Pino, Kamada; Strand Larsen.
Sage has kept Strand Larsen up front, with Mateta not included in the starting lineup despite the possibility of a return this weekend. Yeremy Pino and Daichi Kamada will support the Norwegian, while Adam Wharton and Quinten Timber start in central midfield.
Sage makes changes for Brighton derby
Anan Khalaili and Tyrick Mitchell are named on the flanks, with the pair expected to provide width and support the attack. The three-man defence will have to cope with Brighton’s strong recent form, with the hosts having won their last three matches in all competitions before Sunday’s derby.
Palace will be looking to respond after their European setback against Lyon. They had beaten Nottingham Forest 3-1 in their previous Premier League outing, but the defeat in France highlighted the need for a more consistent performance across 90 minutes.
The Eagles have enjoyed recent success against Brighton, including a 1-0 win at the Amex last February. Sage will be hoping his side can produce another strong performance on the south coast and return to winning ways in the league.
